This is the last day of NOVEMBER! I can't believe it!
We started the day with a secret reader who read us two stories!! Can your firstie remember either?
Then we learned that God looks at the HEART of leaders, and in our hearts, we can have the FRUITS of the SPIRIT: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness. These all come because God has chosen us to bear good fruit.
We then worked on suffixes again. Do you know that we can spot them in our writing? We read a Big Book today, and we saw "ing" "ed" and "s"! See if you spot them anywhere as you read together tonight!
After inside recess, we worked through centers, focusing on our leveled readers. They are in bags tonight.
After lunch, we worked on -0 facts (NOTHING CHANGES!) and "A Number-Itself" (ex: 8-8)...it's the opposite of a double! It's ZERO!
Finally, we ended our day with a little SNEAKY E skit. Sneaky E changes the vowel, from a short sound, to a long sound. Ask your first grader to help explain that!
