Monday 11/13

Happy Monday!
Thanks again for the time to talk at conferences. It was great touching base!

We began our day with journal. Our topic was "How do you like your turkey?" May be a great topic for dinner conversation!

After PE, we learned about prepositions. These are special words that connect nouns to the rest of the sentence.  They add "pizazz" to our sentences.  It was SO GREAT practicing with these specialty words!

We also practiced our new spelling words and read a story together about Chippy the Chipmunk. Can your firstie tell you what the story was about?

After recess, we worked through our centers.  We hunted for words, read short vowel words with blends, read to our selves, read to our friends, and listened to reading. At the teachers table, we worked on everything from high-frequency words to blends to sentences with prepositional phrases.

After lunch, we learned about the identity property of addition. This fancy talk means that if you add zero, the other addend doesn't change! We made new flashcards to practice!

Finally, we learned about Deborah. What did she do? What kind of battlefield are we on everyday? What do we have to help us fight the battle?

HW: math and facts
Have a blessed night!
