Tuesday 9.5

Today, we began our day with prayer requests, like we always do. Ask your firstie what he/she prayed for.  We then learned the Bible event about Cain and Abel, two brothers. One brother let jealousy lead to a bunch of sins. What happened in the story? He was so far from God-- how can we stay NEAR to God? We talked about 4 ways that- Here on Earth- we can feel close to our heavenly Father. What are those? (We used stickers...see if that jogs a memory).

In langauage arts today, we worked on SHORT A words. Can your firstie name any? We also took a practice spelling test!  For practice tonight, you can ask your firstie to write out these words:

pat
sat
fan
man
can
sap
nap
lap
flat

After our fire drill, we headed to Tech Class! Ask your firstie how they enjoyed the Chrome Books (Which aren't books at all!)

After lunch, we build towers for numbers 6-9, then decided together where 0 should go!

We DON'T have math tonight, because we chose to make sure we got our First Monday Folders all sent home correctly...that took a bit the first time!

Finally, we ended the day talking about SELF CONTROL. Self-Control is NOT popping bubbles when we really really want to.  Ask your first grader to tell you what self-control looks like!

That's it for today! See the school website for more information about the Patriot Walk and to print off the permission slip!

Thank you!
Have a blessed night!
Chapel tomorrow!
