Wednesday 9.6

Today, we began our day with chapel! What a blessing it is to start as a school family in worship together!

After chapel, we came back to our room and worked on our phonics and reading!  We did AMAZING reading our high-frequency words. We also were great at reading short a words. Here are a few to add to our list:

man
sad
pat
Dan

We are learning about nouns...we sang a song: This little noun, floating around, name a person place of thing...with a knick knack patty whack, these are English rules...isn't language fun and COOL!
Can your firstie name 5 nouns?

After a beautiful long recess, we worked in small groups to practice rhyming. It gave me a chance to hear each voice, and while I worked with small groups, my class read to themselves, read to a friend, or did a word work activity. It was a great way to practice lots of literacy all at once!

After lunch, we created our own graph today using our favorite flavor ice cream. What was your firstie's favorite flavor? Which flavor won? (Twist!! It had 8 votes!)

We worked through our math together, and side b is homework. Finally, we started an art project that we will finish tomorrow! Have a blessed night!
