9.13

Today, we began in chapel. We learned about FAITH. Faith is believing, even when we can't see. Mr. Hoch used a volunteer AND mousetraps to show us what FAITH looks like! Ask your first grader to tell you about that! We also had our first chapel service with our buddies! That was SUPER GREAT to sit by them!

In reading class today, we talked about captions. These are small sentences or phrases that explain a picture. Did you write captions under baby pictures? Show those tonight!  Here is one we worked on together. You can do the other tonight!

In small groups, we worked with our leveled readers. These will come home tomorrow, after we have one more chance to read them together. We also did vowel sorts and sentence sorts, in a small group together!

Here's a link to an online word search with short i words if your firstie would like some extra practice.

After lunch and recess, we had our first math student of the day! He did a great job leading us through the math board!

We created our own bar graph using just one dot cube! You can do this at home...roll the dot cube, and color a square for the number you rolled. Then keep rolling!! After 20 rolls, see which number was the winner! Check Seesaw! The results are there.

No math homework. Every 10 lessons the students have a test, and a day with no homework. The no-homework falls tonight!

PERFECT timing, since you will be here for open house, starting at 7pm.

Another highlight today: We went to the library! YAY!
Have a blessed night!
