I missed my littles!!
We began our day with chapel...led by 3rd grade. They did a great job talking about redemption.
We also worked on our songs for our last church worship -- we will sing "Make me a servant" and "Jesu, Jesu"...ask your firstie to sing them to you-- so sweet!!
We read a new story today together called "The Dot". Vashti changes a lot during this story! How does she change? What makes her change? Here's a chance to listen to it...it's worth it; it's a great story about persevering!

We also worked on the doubling rule. IF a word is a short vowel word, one syllable, and ends with a consonant, when you add a vowel suffix, you have to double the consonant. Seems tricky, but they know this language, so they caught on quickly!
After a (cold and still wet) recess, we worked on comparing numbers. We talked about two different ways to use these symbols: 1) pac-man eating the large number or 2) an arrow pointing to the small number. Either works; ask your firstie which works better for him/her.
After lunch, we sang some hymns and caught up on our Jesus time. We are talking how God's word is a lamp to us. It leads us closer to Him, it shows us the way, it lights our life. We made lamps to remind us:
That's it..math homework for today. Have a blessed night!
