We started by sharing the best news of our Easter Break. Sounds like everyone did something, even if that something was relaxing in bed and cuddling the pups!!
We worked on our new sound for this week: ou/ow. Typically, you will not find OU at the end of words, but the OW could be either place...so check those spelling words carefully this week!!
Here's a link for extra practice: Click on lesson 25.

We did a bit of sorting in class as well, before we listened to our newest story: "The New Friend". You can listen along here:

We had a special art class...we worked on Pointillism with Ms. Carderis. Ask your firstie to demonstrate!
After lunch, we read the Easter Story together!
He is RISEN! HE is risen indeed!! Alleluia!!
We read from our Bible, sang from our hymnal, and colored a verse together.
We then buckled down for math! Did you know that we created our own measuring tool to measure far distances!! It is HARD WORK, and it takes team work, but we did it!!
There is math homework tonight...both side A and facts.
I know it feels weird to have homework after a relaxing break...but we only have 43 more school days!
Attached below, you can see our remaining memory verses. First grade's practice has been to review the verses from the beginning of the year, to commit them again to memory.
Have a blessed night!
It was SO GREAT to see your kiddos again!
