We also listened to "Whistle for Willie". Our big heart lesson here was "Don't give up if you can't do something the first time." Such a good lesson for first graders! And the dog is pretty cute too. Here's a link if you want to listen together:

We then worked on measuring! Think about this...we are holding a ruler, lining up a year, reading a number line...all at the same time! That's a lot of thinking...and everyone did great!! Hand them a ruler, and let them practice! No ruler? No problem... you can do it online to get the idea of end to end measuring.

After lunch, we worked through 3 centers and enjoyed two secret readers. What a great time we have had learning about our hallmates.
