We began today with PE which was good...it shook the sleepies right off! We came back and learned one of the hardest parts of reading-- the bossy r pairs.
ER IR and UR.
There is no rule here...just lots of practice.
Here's a game to play for extra practice:

We then had an AWESOME time singing to Mr. Penzien. He's part of a group that worships here once a month, and we have prayed for him every day of first grade. It was amazing meeting him in person. He is almost 99 years old!!
After lunch, we worked on ordering numbers. These are tricky but it's a great skill to practice. You can start simple...give your firstie a few cards from a deck...put them in order from least to greatest. Then add on extras. If you are really brave, use notecards to write cards from 1-120. Shuffle, and sort!
We ended our day with Jesus time today. We had a bit of time for praying, for singing, and for learning about a very important remembering meal. You can read about it together in the book of Mark.
HW tonight: Math side B and Facts side B
Have a blessed night!
