We had THE MOST PRODUCTIVE morning today! We began with ER IR and UR....can your firstie tell you the chant? Here's a video of the phonics dance, done by the phonics lady!

(We changed it a tiny bit...but this is pretty close!)
We then sorted our spelling words by ir er ur. Did you know there are only two "er" words...her and fern. Think "Her name is Fern".
We also worked on using "I" correctly...like "Joe and I played tennis" NOT "Me and Joe played tennis." This is just a matter of breaking our speech habits, but now we know why!
We also partner read our stories! We are getting better at this each day! Have your firstie tell you one Amazing Fact about an Amazing Animal in our story!
In the afternoon, we worked on counting by 100s! We sent you a video to show you our 100 hip hop beat!
Then we worked through centers. We are working hard on comprehension strategies. This week, we are picturing in our brain what we are reading. It helps us make connections.
