We began our day today with PE. There is something very fun about getting to school and RUNNING AND WORKING IT OUT right away!
After PE, we worked REALLY HARD on our Language Arts for the day! We did:
Long vowel patter i __ e (Can you read these? hike, bike, spike, pine, line. Can you add any more?)
Animal Traits: We shared 35 new books about animals...we took time to read and learn and share! What animal did your firstie read about?
Writing about Animals: We created our partner BRAINSTORMING WEB. Tomorrow, partners will work together to write about the animals!

Then we took a break for recess and snack!
After that, we worked on our Writing For January. We are spending 7 mins a day writing with a prompt. We counted our words, and tomorrow, we will try to build writing stamina by writing more words! We know we can grow our writing muscles this way!
We ate lunch, and played outside again, then we tackled math! We are working on our Green +2 flash cards. These are tricky...we will work on them quite a bit over the next few days. An odd +2 equals an odd....an even +2 equals an even.
We ended our day with prayer requests (what did your firstie pray for?) and with the story of Jesus's Baptism. Tonight, share pictures of your firstie's baptism with him/her. Talk about how special that day is.
