First Day of First Grade 2017

We did it! We made it through our half day! Here's what our day looked like:

We began with the invocation. Can your firstie show you how we make the sign of the cross? Tomorrow, we will learn how we can pray for each other and for those we love.

We also sang, "Father I adore you" and "Jesus's Love is a Bubbling Over". Those have actions. Does your firstie remember any? Don't worry if not...we have 179 more times to sing it in first grade!

We headed to chapel and learned about how it IS about Jesus. No matter how tall, we can't get to heaven on our own. We need the Grace and Love of our Savior Jesus!  Check out this picture of Pastor Mark!

We came back from chapel and had time for a snack. While we had our snack, we shared GoNoodle, an incredible movement website that guarantees we can get our wiggles out during the day.

(We did get up and dance, after we finished eating.)
We talked about "What ifs"....can your firstie tell you any of these "what if" answers?

Finally, we decided what was my job and what was their job during our school day. This is a great way to open up conversation about teamwork.

At the end of the day, we read "First Day Jitters" and made a bar graph of how we felt on our first day of first grade!

Tomorrow, we come back for a WHOLE DAY! Pack a lunch, and a snack. Send back in blue home folders, and pray for us, as we get to know one another and learn about first grade!
