Today, we began with our spelling review game! This is a great game, because it gets the words back into our brains just before our test!! We took a spelling and reading test, and then reviewed our dropping rule for the sneaky e when you add a vowel suffix. Fancy stuff, first grade!!
We made a CROSS necklace that reminds us "I am with you always", the words that Jesus gave his apostles as He ascended into heaven. Where is a place in your home that you can put this cross-- so that all can be reminded that they are never alone?
Math was all about CAPACITY! Hand your firstie a cup measurer....and some empty containers. Count how many cups fit in the containers. Hoe many fit in a quart? A gallon? Math sure is fun!!
After lunch, we learned about how penguins stay warm. How did God create them to stand the cold water? We did a little experiment to see how it felt!
