We took the phonics part of our unit test today! The best thing we can do to practice for these tests are simply read! Read, read, read!! The more words we see, the more words we recognize, the more confident we become as readers!
We played outside for a nice long recess, then came inside and did some trading! We traded pennies for dimes. It takes ten pennies to make a dime. Hand your firstie a pile of pennies and have them separate them into piles of 10. Then trade the piles for dimes! How much easier is that to count!!
After lunch, we practiced our reader's theater! We are getting there!!
We then talked about the seven continents (Can your firstie name any?) and the animals that live there. The science notebook came home today. This can stay home :)
We did a sneak peek of a science experiment.... Polymers stretch and help seal.
No homework!
