1/23/18

WHEW! What a productive day!! We switched around our schedule a little bit, and that really helped us manage our time!

We began with our reading time- we worked on question words, vowel patterning of o_e and _o'.  We also practiced our new story with dyad reading. This is a fancy way to say "Partner Reading".

What do you notice about our questions? What is at the end? Can you for extra practice write out questions for your mom and dad, using our W (and h) questions words?

Math was all about one half. We divided a square in half THREE DIFFERENT WAYS!
Then, we used those halves to create art!!

After lunch, we had our devotional time, our song time, and our Jesus time. We reviewed the story about the children coming to Jesus. Your child can retell the story tonight, using props in the blue folders!

We also spent a chunk of our afternoon working through our centers. This is valuable time to spend reading, writing, and sharing.  Everyone is digging into their readers today!

Finally, we talked about the parts of an address. Check your mailbox today...point out on an envelope where the NAME goes, where the HOUSE NUMBER goes, the STREET NAME, CITY NAME and STATE. What is a zip code for?

HW: Math side b!
Chapel and library tomorrow!
Dress UP for Jesus!
