Fri-YAY 11/17

Today, we got started RIGHT AWAY with partner reading our book, then taking both a reading and a comprehension test! It was great to get that all in before 9am! We worked through our centers one last time, making sure that we finished all the work that needed to be done.  By the time we did that, it was time for snack and recess!

We then learned a LOT about the first Thanksgiving. Here are some words that go with our learning...ask your first grader how each word fits with the first Thanksgiving:

Squanto
Mayflower
Sickness
Winter
Wompanoag
Thanks
Fish
Corn
English
Pilgrim
Religion

After lunch, we practiced our -1 facts. These are getting easier as we get more confident in counting backwards. Be sure to count backwards at home, too. And while you're at it, count forward too! 1-120!!

We made a handprint craft--the Mayflower today. These are cute--and still wet! :)

We ended the day with a very GREAT lego rendition of the story of Samson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBvcJO2PqY0

We prayed together, sang together, cleaned our room together and walked out together!
HW- none!
See on you Monday!
