9.28 Day 14 of school

We made it through  a Monday-- our first one with PE first thing! Talk about a fast welcome...whew! But we did it!

We came back from pe and practiced our new sound /o/ as in ox. Can your firstie read this list:

ox
fox
spot
cot
hot
pot
plot
trot
top
flop

What other /o/ words do you know?

Here's a game to practice short /o/ sounds. Click on the /o/

After snack and a chilly recess, we worked on our literacy centers. There were 6 rotations. Your firstie should know what color he/she is for the week. This color just helps us figure out where to go when it's time to start center time.

After lunch (and another chilly recess) we read some more of "Stick Dog". Stick Dog is so close to getting those hamburgers! What do you think is going to happen next?

In math, we acted out Some Some more and Some Some went away math problems. (Those are the ways that Saxon says "addition" and "subtraction".)   We will work on writing these late this week!

We ended our day with Jesus time, acting out the story of Esau and Jacob and how Jacob tried to steal away his brother's inheritance.  Our focus word was REPENT- which means to turn away from our sin and put our eyes back on God. This is something we need to do everyday!

HW tonight: Just math!
White folders are filled with finished work.
See you in the morning!
